Instructors
GT1000 is taught by academic faculty and professional staff who volunteer their time above and beyond regular responsibilities to assist freshmen with their transition to Georgia Tech. Instructors have stated that teaching this course is an incredibly rewarding experience and has enlightened them on the pulse and culture of Georgia Tech and its students. Academic faculty teaching the course report students in their major are better prepared for the rigors of coursework, more aware of the opportunities available in that major, and more likely to have a connection with the faculty member.
Instructors are recruited each year to teach in fall and spring semesters. Volunteers are needed! For more information, contact Dr. Steven Girardot at (404) 894-1945 or steven.girardot@vpss.gatech.edu.
